From Our Pilot Program

 

At the end of every year, we all have that dreaded thought — what will be my New Year’s Resolution. This year, my number one priority was to get healthier. I never thought I ate horribly. My diet consisted of low-fat everything. However, I loved my dairy and my grains. My family would have pasta for dinner at least once a week and bread with every meal, sometimes eating bread 3 times a day. But it was always wheat bread or whole grain bread, so I knew I was making a better choice than choosing white bread.

 

I also belonged to a gym and worked out 3-4 times a week. My workouts consisted of cycling class and running on the treadmill. But I still did not feel good about myself. I was never one to get on a scale. I didn’t like comparing myself to a number that I knew was not realistic. I always went by how my clothes fit. Well, they hadn’t been fitting well for quite some time.

 

Something just didn’t feel right. I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t losing weight. I would look at myself in the mirror and see this person staring back at me that didn’t look good or I didn’t like looking at. I looked bloated and unattractive. I started to get depressed. I knew I needed to take action.

 

When I heard about the Cruxpoint Health Breakthrough Seminar, I hesitated to join in the first session and missed the opportunity. But when a second session was being held, and knew I should give it a shot. I’m so grateful I did. Attending the session made me realize that I’ve been doing it wrong all along. What I was eating was not helping me; in fact, it was hindering me. I decided that I would do the 45-day Cruxpoint Challenge Diet. I started it on January 5, 2015. A few days in, I wasn’t sure what I had gotten myself in to. But I wasn’t going to quit. I knew I had to stick it out.

 

By day 10, my body started looking different, my energy level increased, my attitude was changing as well. By day 44, I was a completely changed person. My clothes were looser, my energy level was out of control, and my attitude did a complete 180. I brought my family along on this new path. We have continued on this journey, sticking as close to “clean eating” as we possibly can. And that’s how I like to refer to it … a journey and a lifestyle change … not a diet.

Through my participation in Cruxpoint, I am navigating my way to a fitter, healthier, happier me. My colitis is totally under control using only an anti-inflammatory diet and supplements to heal my GI system. I have lost about 10 lbs, and my piriformis syndrome is now healed. I have been on a quest for excellent health for just over 5 months now. My health issues were, and still are, obvious. I started the Cruxpoint program as a morbidly obese man who weighed 290 pounds! I do not see any fat 90-year old people, and I plan to live well into my 90s in excellent health! So, I knew I had to do something.  

 

In the last 5 months, I have lost over 55 pounds, and have another 55 to go … and I will do it.  

 

My good fortune was to get a wake-up call about my health and to learn about Cruxpoint at the same time. I have lost weight before, only to regain it once I was off whichever diet I was using — the yo-yo effect. Cruxpoint’s comprehensive look at health makes sense to me, and following the lifestyle program has been easy.
